Monaco is always six weeks after Easter. The rest of the F1 calendar is built around Monaco.

And Easter is the first Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox.

well that's no fun!

Indeed ... the the Monaco Grand Prix will always be the seventh Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox (six weeks after Easter Sunday).

Seriously, i'll have to look at the full moon calendar for 2011.

By the way, this is no joke ... it really is the calendar for Monaco, every year.

Happy to be on ferrarichat

EDIT : well here's the way I see the 2011 calendar:

Spring Equinox 2011 : March 20
First full moon after spring equinox : April 17 (the previous one was March 19th, just missed it)
Easter Sunday : April 24 (quite late in the year, due to that full moon schedule)
Monaco Grand Prix : June 5 (quite late, because Easter is so late)

But ... I wouldn't recommend booking flights & hotels, until we get some verification.

Lightbulb Don't bank on it.

Last year JKnight pointed to me the link Monaco page and there was the contract dates for the F1 and the Old F1 cars.
I booked Nice for the 19~ 23 and scheduled my Ferrari Factory tour for May 25.

When the schedule came out because Canada was put back on the schedule the F1 team association wanted 2 weeks to get to Turkey after Monaco, Monaco was rescheduled to 16th of May.

could very well be that June 5th is simply too late in the season, and Monaco will be pulled back into May.

sorry, i know it's little help to the original poster

we are awaiting the dates for the Historics for 2012 (s/b 12 & 13 May 2012) - much better access, much cheaper, more fun

Don't forget that this year they tried to screw everyone by shifting a week or two after the official date was announced......

Yes, the '11 GP is scheduled for May 29, so that's probably going to be the date, but race tickets don't go on sale until early December anyway, so . . .
Your bigger problem is lining up a hotel room, assuming you want to stay in MC, as opposed to coming in from a nearby town in France or Italy. If you want to stay in MC, start contacting hotels ASAP.
For (MUCH) more info, search "Monaco GP" and similar terms here on FChat, as I've attended every year since '92 and opined at great (too much?) length on this subject. Feel free to contact me privately if there's anything I can do after you've read those previous posts.
